Noe Continues Hot-Streak, Stretches The Fuel
Noe ran out of gas coming out of turn 4 but was able to cruise to a win in the Pure Michigan 400 by a comfortable margin over his teammate Rusty Caple. The win makes it 2 in a row for Jeff Noe and 3 out of the last 4.
The race went caution-free from the get go and saw multiple cars have issues off the get go. Bobby Chu and Rusty Caple both had single car issues in the early going and played catch up the entire race. Brian Wright grabbed the lead on lap 7 and pulled out to over 3 seconds on second place Jeff Noe. Brian Wright was able to hold the lead till after the 2nd pit stop which came at lap 39, but Noe chipped away and finally overcame Brian Wright on lap 45.
No one can argue that Rusty Caple was the class of the field. He and Bobby Chu steadily cut into Noe and Wright's advantage over the field and by lap 70, the lead was cut from 20 seconds to 7. After Jeff Noe's final stop, Rusty Caple had created a significant gap between himself and the others. Unfortunately Rusty Caple would be denied his first ICAR win as he had to pit once more. Noe won with a Pocono default setup which allowed him to get 2 more laps of fuel each pit stop and pit one less time than the entire field.
Be ready for tonite as we beat the hell out of each other at Bristol!!!
Next race: 5/22/14 @ Bristol Motor Speedway! (Night)
Heats start at 7:15pm EST!
